Choose the right texture & it is best to use Human Hair! Selecting a believable texture is essential. If your roots are nappy then you should not be rocking super straight hair, it does not match up. Smooth out your roots. Make sure your roots and weave mesh seamlessly.

2. Do show some scalp or your hairline so the look is more realistic.

3. Don’t choose a weave that does not match your lifestyle. If you tend to sweat or workout a lot choose a texture & cut that requires little heat & styling.

4. Conduct chemical treatments (relaxers, color, etc) on separate occasions. Having a chemical treatment done with a weave on with cause major breakage among other things.

5. Condition your real hair with deep treatments especially when weave is off. On the weave use a light weight conditioner.
Fully brush your weave on a daily basis, in order to prevent tangling and matting. Avoid flipping your head upside down in the shower when washing your weave. This creates major tangling.

6. Get your weave cut into shape. If your weave is not shaped correctly then if will not fall naturally.

Wash and condition your hair really good. Use Deep Treatment if your hair is overworked, chemically processed &/or damaged. (For Best Results, use our products DOMINICAN MANE).

2. Apply a leave-in blow drying lotion. Be generous in the amount you use if you have thick hair.

3. Part your hair in sections, untangle your hair in parts, start at the ends. Then set your hair with rollers. Sit under a hooded dryer until your hair is completely dry.

4. Remove the rollers and blow dry your hair with a round brush and a really hot blow dryer with a concentrator nozzle to straighten the hair.

5. Put the round brush at the top section of your hair at the roots and brush down while blow drying your hair. It goes form the root of your hair down to the end of your hair. When you get to the end of your hair, make sure to roll the brush under so the ends of the hair are slightly bent under.

6. Finally, spray a silicone product such as a hair polisher or gloss that makes your hair shiny.

Note: If you are not experienced at blow drying your hair, seek a professional Dominican hair stylist.

Way Too Tight: Tension on the hair leads to inflammation, alopecia & possible permanent scarring. Also, the hair weave should not feel heavy, or it will cause a weight problem. A skilled stylist can do a weave without you feeling pain from tight braids.

2. Lack of Shampoo: If you do not wash your scalp properly or at least once a week, it will cause issues. These issues range from overgrowth of yeast and bacteria on the scalp. An on-going itchy scalp is not normal, maintain your scalp clean.

3. Goopy-Hair Glue: Sewn in weaves are generally safer, but we know that a glue in is cheaper. If you must go with glue in make sure you use a product (Bond Remover) that helps remove the close. If not you will end up ripping your hair, or worse your scalp!

4. Weary Weave: The longer you wear a weave the more likely it is to cause damage. Do not keep on a weave for more than two months, and give your hair a at least a 2 week break in between.
